Take a deep breath...

Well...we did it!  We turned in the estimates and blueprints to our construction loan officer today.  After all our pennies were written out and on the table (literally), we had to take some deep breaths.  Looks like we're eating ramen noodles until closing day.  Long lost wealthy relatives, remember David and Rebekah in your wills, please...

Welcome to the Neighborhood!

I thought I'd post some pictures of Phase VIII of Woodridge.

New Adventure...

Twenty-two months ago, we purchased a lot in the Woodridge Subdivision in Spartanburg. We are so excited about the land! It's a basement lot that backs up to woods and a creek! We've been trudging through house plan after house plan, builder after builder, and we finally have a plan!
We sold our home of almost 10 years on Floy Street in Woodland Heights on December 15, 2009. We made so many happy and sweet memories there!

Keslynne is so excited about our new neighborhood! She'll have lots of friends to invite over that live right around the corner! She's already making plans for a carpool pick-up, slumber parties, bikes rides to and from her friends' homes, and play dates in her NEW playroom!

Rebekah is excited about the new kitchen and master bathroom! I can't wait to cook in that fancy oven and soak in that big bathtub!

David is excited about the basement (aka, the man cave!). Lots of room for all his toys! He's pretty excited about the master closets too. He doesn't have to share with me anymore! I'm not quite organized enough for him!

At any rate, I thought it would fun for our friends and family to watch the progress of 544 Verdae Drive. I hope to post new pictures as things get accomplished on the house.

Woodridge is a large neighborhood, with almost 400 homes! We will be in Phase VIII. The neighborhood is split into East and West Woodridge. Willis Road is the divider of the neighborhood.

The new lot is 2 miles from Mom---Keslynne and Rebekah have been begging David for a golf cart to ride back and forth!

We were so lucky to have found the "almost perfect" temporary housing until 544 Verdae is completed. David's aunt moved to a retirement community. We have purchased her small 3 bedroom, 1 bath home near USC-Upstate and have our things in her two storage houses, David's grandmother's outbuilding, David's parents basement, my parents' attic, and a rental storage unit near Westgate Mall. David and I just laugh at each other when we start looking for something and the other asks, "Do you know where that is?" When 544 is completed and we're all moved in, we'd like to rent this precious house to some deserving college students or a sweet little family in the area.

We hope you delight in following us on our adventure! It will be an adventure for sure!
