A slice out of the mountain!

The graders have moved some serious dirt in less than a week.  They were back yesterday and today taking a slice out of the mountain!  Keslynne and I have new "lot walking" shoes.  Our plastic rainboots are coming very much in handy in this beautiful red clay mud pit!  Here are some pictures from the "slice of the mountain!"
Thank You, lot across the street, for the dirt!

The Driveway

Below are some pictures from behind the dirt piles, the sweet little babbling creek at the back of the lot!

Keslynne was really taken by some of the trash the graders left behind today.  She just couldn't believe those nice men would litter!  So, in honor of her amusement, we took this picture of the paper cup/tree root sculpture...

Earth Day Celebration!

We started moving dirt and trees on April 22, Earth Day.  Ironic?  In 3 days, the guys have worked super duper hard!  We're "borrowing" some dirt from the lot across the street-our graders have done a fantastic job getting things just right before the poured concrete basement walls come in.  We even can see where the driveway will be already!

Hip! Hip! Hooray! Today is DIRT MOVING DAY!

Our Lot Prep Contractor called yesterday afternoon to tell us the good news...trees starting falling down today!  I'll be by later to document this exciting event by photograph.  It's really happening...never thought this when we started this process 2 years ago!

Can you imagine?

Imagine...the entire house wapped in this brick...Are you kidding?  How can you tell anything by this tiny little picture?  I need to see an entire house!  Sorry homeowners, I may be the creepy neighbor doing the drive-by to look at your brick!

God made dirt...

God made dirt, dirt don't hurt, and I know it shouldn't cost $55,000!  Are you kidding me?  Lot prep estimate-$55,000?  As much as we want everyone to see our house, it might be hidden in the hole...
